Reducing heavy metal content of waste water esp. in dentistry - by use of agent contg. substances absorbing heavy metals by ion-exchange or chemical bonding

In reducing the heavy metal content, there is added to the suction device or to the region of the supply dish or later parts, e.g. the separator, an agent contg., in addn. to builders and opt. surfactants, disinfectants, antifoams, dyes and perfumes, substances which take up heavy metals by ion-exchange absorption or by chemical bonding, keeping the pH in the alkaline range, pref. 9-13. Pref. the agent contains at least 2 antifoams, one with rapid action, and the other with a specific action time adapted to the compsn. ADVANTAGE - Release of amalgams and Hg cpds. into the water system is avoideda
