Polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate hard foams (A) are produced in known manner in presence of (B) as foam stabiliser (FS) polyoxyalkylene ether (PAE) of condensation prods. of (1-22C) alkyl-, pref. (8-12C) alkylphenols and 1-18C, pref. 1-4C aldehydes. The oxyalkylene units of the PAE contain 4-18, pref. 4-10 alkylphenol gps. The oxyalkylene units contain 2-4C, pref. 2 or 3C. The oxyalkylene content is 15-85, pref. 35-65 wt.% (Part of) the H of the terminal OH of the polyoxyalkylene residues can be replaced by 1-8C alkyl, -C(O)-NH-R or -C(O)-R, R is 1-8C alkyl.
