The plate is secured to a bone by a screw installed at a wide range of angles, being particularly for use as a blade plate for wedge osteotomy. The screw hole has a seat for the head, a harrow hole for the screw shank to the inside of the seat, and a milled-out portion on the outside. The seat (8) is inclined to suit the mean value of the range of screw angles, its centre being inside the plate, while its diameter is greater than the plate thickness. The shank hole (11) and the milled-out portion (12) are at a greater angle than the seat to the vertical direction (10).
