摘要 The geophysical prospecting method of the invention comprises the steps of: injecting an energy signal in the form of at least two pseudo-random pulse sequences of the complementary sequence type into the subsurface; detecting the energy signal after it has been attenuated by traveling through various underground formations; and correlating the detected signals and a reference signal comprising at least two pseudo-random binary sequences, and summing the correlations so that the resultant signal which corresponds to the subsurface response signal does not have secondary lobes. The invention is applicable to seismic prospecting and more particularly to cross-well seismic surveying. It is also applicable to acoustic prospecting in the form of well logging measurements. <IMAGE>
