<p>A marking head (1) and device for pressure-transfer of indicia (27) onto the sidewall of a tyre. The head indicia application means comprises a bundle of independent needles (11), free to move with slight friction with respect to each other and driven by a pneumatic piston (3) via a resilient component (4). The marking head (1) is inserted in an automatic indicia applying device. A method is provided for speedily transferring the indicia (27) with excellent adhesion regardless of where they are applied on the tyre sidewall and regardless of sidewall texture.</p> |
