In a process for producing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (AN), a diammine complex of Ni or Cu is incorporated into the AN lattice, in which the diammine complex is produced in a solid-state reaction of AN and metal oxide at 110 DEG to 170 DEG C. and in a proportion of up to 10% is either mixed with further AN and melted, homogenized and subsequently transferred into the solid state, or mixed with further AN is incorporated into the AN lattice at between 80 DEG and 170 DEG C. in a solid-state reaction.
