<p>A catheter combination (20) as disclosed for passing an endoscope (26) along a vessel. The catheter combination (20) includes a catheter (20) having a hollow tubular member (22) defining a lumen having a first cross-sectional area. The catheter (20) has a proximal end (28), a distal end (30) and an irrigation connector (46) at the proximal end (28) of the catheter (20) with a wall defining a passageway connecting with the lumen. An endoscope (26) has an endoscope body (24) with a distal end portion and a proximal end portion. The body has a cross-sectional area less than the first cross-sectional area of the lumen. The endoscope proximal end portion extends proximally of the catheter proximal end (28) and the endoscope distal end portion extends distally of the catheter distal end (30). The endoscope body (24) extends through the lumen such that fluid from the passage in the irrigation connector (46) can pass between the endoscope body (24) and the lumen.</p> |
