PURPOSE:To promote the fixing of carbon dioxide by storing a culture liquid containing microalgae in a culture tank, lifting the culture liquid with an air lift pump using a gas containing carbon dioxide, flowing down the culture liquid in the form of a liquid film and irradiating the flowing film with light. CONSTITUTION:A culture liquid 2 containing algae cultured in a culture tank 1 is introduced into an air lift pump 3 having a suction port of the culture liquid 2 in the culture tank 1 and the liquid flow is joined with a gas 4 containing carbon dioxide and supplied from a separate line. Since the apparent specific gravity of the obtained bubble-mixed liquid 8 is smaller than that of the culture liquid 2 in the culture tank 1, the mixed liquid moves upward in the air lift tube 5 by the equilibrium of the outer and inner pressures of the tube at the blasting port and spouts from the top of the air lift tube 5. The liquid is flowed down along the outer surface of the cylindrical air lift tube 5 forming a film 6 of the culture liquid, carbon dioxide is fixed with the microalgae by the photosynthetic action with sunlight 7 and the used culture liquid is returned to the culture tank 1. The above culture cycle is repeated to fix the carbon dioxide. |
