Holder for a spring hook of the MERX type and comprising a hook part 7, a locking arm 9, a spring-tensioned locking tongue 11 and a base part 14. The holder comprises a sleeve having a U-shaped cavity, which on one edge side 3 has an elevation 4 having an inclined surface region 5 by the opening of the holder. The cavity is dimensioned such that the base part of the spring hook, in the inserted position, is held pressed against the sides of the cavity with an articulated section of the base part bearing against the elevation. At the same time, the locking arm is held swung in or the locking tongue is held pressed in against the hook part and the open hook projects from the sleeve. The elevation gives good position-fixing of the spring hook and helps to secure the spring hook in the holder by producing friction against and/or being brought into engagement with an articulated section 9' of the locking arm.
