PRODUCTION OF GLASS CLOTH FOR RESIN-REINFORCEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a glass cloth for resin-reinforcement suitable for a material for printed circuit board having high soldering heat-resistance even in moisture- absorbed state by repeatedly applying a treating liquid containing a silane- coupling agent to a glass cloth. CONSTITUTION:A glass cloth subjected to heat-cleaning is repeatedly immersed in a treating solution produced by dissolving a silane-coupling agent in water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent to apply the agent plural times (without drying or interposing a drying and heat-treatment between the coating steps) and the coated product is heat-treated. The above process is repeated plural times to obtain a glass cloth for resin-reinforcement having excellent affinity to epoxy resin, etc. A plurality of the resin-impregnated prepreg sheets are stacked and pressed to obtain a laminate. The laminate has excellent soldering heat-resistance and is extremely suitable as a high-density mounting printed circuit board, a multilayer printed circuit board and a thin-layer printed circuit board.
