摘要 PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording and reproducing method in which recording density can be improved through simple configuration, and simultaneously, the recording time of data can be shortened at the time of recording, and besides, the data can be reproduced at a high S/N ratio by raising diffracted light rate at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A beam splitter 4 to split a laser beam emitted from an He-Ne laser 2 into a first and a second laser beams 11, 17, an objective lens 10 to focus the first laser beam 11 to the track of a recording medium 12, and a galvanometer 8 to deflect the second laser beam 17 to the direction of a pair of lenses 14, 16 are provided. The second laser beam 17 is focused by the lenses 14, 16 to a part to which the first laser beam 11 is focused, and interfers mutually with the first laser beam 11, and interference fringes are generated on the track. The interference fringes are recorded on the track, and the data encoded in accordance with spaces between the fringe and another is recorded.
