PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon for thermal transfer recording which ensures the easy peel-off of an ink layer and stable image transfer. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon for thermal transfer recording equipped with a base 1 and an ink layer 5 formed on the base 1 has a latent calorific value distribution designed so that the ink fusion latent calorific value of the ink layer 5 reduces in proportion to a distance from the surface of the base 1. That is, the cross-section of the fusible part of the ink layer 5 becomes closer to the rectangular compared to a conventional ink ribbon. Subsequently, this new ink ribbon demonstrates an excellent transfer stability and its effects which are applicable to the enhancement of an image resolution and an area gradation recording process. |
