Central heating unit consisting of a solid fuel furnace 1 in which fuel is burned, ducts leading from the furnace to the chimney, a heat-insulated reserve space 9 in conjunction with which the furnace 1 is arranged so that water surrounds it at least partially and a discharge tube 15 and return tube 27 connected to the reserve space for connection of the central heating unit to a central heating network. The invention has been implemented so that a pump and network space 11 is arranged in the heat insulation 26 of the central heating unit, which contains at least one circulating water pump 12 and the necessary devices for connection of the central heating unit to the central heating network and an operating water line, and that the discharge tube 15 is arranged in the reserve space 9 so that the upper end 16 of tube 15 is positioned at a predetermined height and the other end of tube 15 is connected to the circulating water pump 12 in the pump and network space 11. <IMAGE>
