PURPOSE:A casing film that is produced by adding a methacrylic alkyl ester copolymer containing carboxylic groups to a copolymer of vinylidene chloride, thus preventing the formation of fish eye and showing high transparency and high adhesion to meat products. CONSTITUTION:A vinylidene chloride copolymer mainly containing vinylidene chloride is mixed with a copolymer composed of 55-99wt% of a methacrylic alkyl ester, preferably 1-8C alkyl ester, and 50-1wt% of a copolymerizable monomer carrying at least one carboxyl, preferably 3-12C unsaturated carboxylic acid, so that the amount of the monomer carrying carboxylic acid groups becomes 0.01- 5wt%, preferably 0.1-3wt%. USE:The resultant casing film is free from the reduction in resistance to contamination caused by the separation of liquids from meat products and by microorganisms. |
