PURPOSE:To obtain a flat metallic plate by providing plural nozzles to inject cooling water above and below the high-temp. metallic plate under traveling and cooling uniformly both top and bottom surfaces of the high-temp. metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate 10 ejected from a heating furnace 1 is cooled by the cooling water injected from the first high-pressure nozzles 26, 29, second high-pressure nozzles 45, 57 first low-pressure nozzles 46, 58 and second low- pressure nozzles 47, 59 provided above and below said plate. The nozzles 26, 29 maintain the injecting direction within a 10-30 deg. range with respect to the advancing direction of the plate 10 to prevent backflow of the injected water. An upper cover 60 is provided in the part of the nozzle 45 and a lower cover 61 in the part of the nozzle 57. The plate 10 is cooled by the cooling water in the upper cover 60 and the lower cover 61 as well. |
