Process and device for the modification of a variable displayed on a video screen

The subject of the invention is a process for the modification of a variable displayed on a video screen (4). To this end, it comprises the steps consisting in: - moving an actuation member over a surface (3); and, cyclically - detecting the position of the actuation member on the said surface; - determining the movement of the actuation member between two successive detections; - determining a new value of the variable as a function of its value in the preceding cycle and of the movement thus determined; and - displaying the new value of the variable.
