PURPOSE:To easily discriminate a necessary surface by a method wherein marking is provided on an unnecessary surface of recording paper with the use of recording paper one surface of which has been already used. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper cassettes 15, 16, 17 respectively hold recording paper of different sizes. The recording paper cassettes are detachable. The cassettes holding recording paper of required sizes are loaded. Recording paper cassette detection sensors 42, 43, 44 respectively detect whether or not the recording paper cassettes are inserted to cassette loading parts. When the cassettes are inserted, they detect the size of recording paper and whether or not the cassettes are rear-surface recording paper cassettes. For making printing on an unprinted surface of recording paper the other surface of which has been already used for printing, recording paper are held in the rear-surface recording cassettes with the unprinted surfaces disposed upside. A solenoid 40 moves a red pen 41 up and down. A red line is written on the rear surface of recording paper by the red pen in a raised state. |
