The invention consists in selectively, according to the sport played at a given time, making the lines defining, on the ground, the playing areas for various sports played in sports halls or gymnasiums, luminous or luminescent. This visual identification is obtained by luminous marking affixed to or embedded in the ground and produced by the placing or the insertion of elements which may be rendered luminous or luminescent, according to the sport being played, and flush with the surface of the ground so as to selectively determine the path of the lines defining the sport being played.
