PURPOSE:To unnecessitate leaving a packet in the device for checksum calculation in the packet transmission device following the protocol containing packet structures having a checksum field in a header. CONSTITUTION:A partial checksum calculation means 1 calculates the partial checksum value for each specified divided length while shifting the transmission data from a host application to a transmission buffer 3. After a packet generation means 2 forms a packet, a checksum integration means 4 integrates the partial checksum value and calculates the checksum value of the packet.
