PURPOSE:To control the surface temperature of an image carrier to be constant at all times and to prevent the occurrence of a defective picture by holding the temperature set value of the image carrier at only moving time of an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A thermistor 28 is provided on the end part of the surface of a photosensitive drum 1, where images are not formed. The surface temperature TD of the photosensitive drum 1 which is always detected by the thermistor 28 is inputted to a comparator circuit 32 as a voltage value. The set temperature TS at the time of the rotation of the photosensitive drum set by a temperature setting circuit 33 is also inputted to the comparator circuit 32 as a voltage value. The comparator circuit 32 compares them and outputs the result of the comparison (for example, in the cases of TD<TS and TD>=TS, '0' and '1', respectively) to a heater control circuit 31. The control circuit 31 controls the on/off of a heater 29 according to the inputted result of the comparison (for example, in the cases of '0' and '1', the heater is on and the heater is off, respectively). |
