The installation comprises
- a first unit (1) including a view-taking video camera (3) and a slow-scanning television transmitter (5), and
- a second unit (2) comprising a slow-scanning television receiver (9) and a monitor (8) linked to the output of this receiver (9).
<??>These units (1, 2), at least one of which is a mobile unit, further comprise respective link means (6; 10, 11) able to allow them to communicate with each other over a preexisting telecommunications system (7, 12) which includes the telephone network (7) and at least one linking channel of the mobile radio type (12).
