<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a medium detector of a high S-N ratio and generating no error detection, as to a medium detector used for detecting the position of a paper-form medium being conveyed, and the like. CONSTITUTION:A medium detector 31 furnishes a luminous element 32, a curving member 33, and a light receiving element 34. The luminous element 32 and the light receiving element 34 are provided on the same surface at one side of a medium passage, while the curving member 33 is provided at the other side of the medium passage at the position opposite to the luminous element 32 and the light receiving element 34. The output light which has been output from the luminous element 32 and crossed almost square to the medium passage is converted the angle about 180 deg. by the curving member 33, and output by crossing the medium passage at the position different from the initial output light. The light receiving element 34 receives the output light and generates an output according to the intensity of the light.</p> |
