PURPOSE:To obtain a rare-metal magnetic powder with a high performance by carrying out nitridation of a rare-metal and iron based alloy and furthermore to manufacture a bond magnet with an excellent performance by combining the powder with a resin. CONSTITUTION:A rare-metal powder with a high performance can be obtained as the result that Ni is added to the conventional Sm-Fe-N system. As for a manufacturing method, an Sm-Fe-Ni based alloy is quenched while being in melting state, and the obtained powder is preheated in a gas so as to intrude nitrogen into it effectively. At the same time, a bond magnet with an excellent performance can be obtained through combining the obtained powder with a resin. It is available to refine crystal grains in order to obtain a large coercive force in the Sm-Fe-N system, however, refining cannot be realized in a ternary system because it is impossible to refine the crystal grains without adding nickel. As the result, the rare-metal magnetic powder having a high energy product and the bond magnet made of their powders can be simultaneously obtained in an Sm-Fe-Fi-N system. |
