摘要 A suspension contg. solids is forced through an inlet channel into a filter chamber at a given pressure through a filter gauze within the chamber. The filtrate passing through the filter gauze within the chamber. The filtrate passing through the filter gauze leaves the chamber via an outlet. A wall is pressed against the filter cake to dewater the residual filter cake. The suspension inlet is closed during filter cake pressing and a hydrostatic pressure is exerted by the pressure wall on the suspension in the filter chamber; the hydrostatic pressure is equal to that of the filtration pressure previously exerted; the pressure wall moves in hydrostaitc equilibrium with the filter gauze; the suspension inlet is closed immediately at the filter chamber wall; and the redn. in filter chamber hydrostatic pressure, which typifies the end of the filtration process, is continually monitored and registered. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement and assemby enable the determn. of the suitablity of fabric systems for filtration purposes., the parameters under which they must operate, their filtration capacity and power requirements and the cake dewatering profile required to achieve min. residual moisture content.
