A capacitive sensor arrangement has a sensor head (1) carrying an electrode (2), to which a sensor potential can be applied. The sensor head carries at least one further electrode adjacent to the first electrode. A change-over device (4-8) is used to apply selectively the sensor potential or an active screen potential to the individual electrodes. The sensor head carries several electrodes arranged along a line or along parallel lines. The lines can be straight or circular. The electrodes can be mounted on a flat surface of the sensor head. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables large region of measurement body to be capacitively sensed in a short time and can be simply adapted to different scanning requirements. Only one evaluation circuit required.
