A screwed clamp for use as a terminal block in electrical systems is produced from plate material (3) in a pressing and forming operation. The plate is bent over to form a tubular profile with a rectangular shape. At two locations along the length a piercing operation is performed to provide a pair of lugs (11) that latch into rectangular section holes (10). Bosses (6) are welded to the section and threaded holes (7) cut to receive the clamping screws. Cable ends are inserted into the tube.
