Grinding belt for rail levelling after build-up welding

The grinding belt is for levelling the surface of a rail (3) of a track, after application of metal by build-up welding. It has a frame (1) with drive pulley (4) and deflection pulley (5), with a belt (6). There are support bearings, and a movable support shoe (10), engaging on the belt. An adjuster is provided for movement and contact pressure of the shoe on the belt. The movement of the shoe at right angles to the belt is limited by the action of mechanical devices, e.g. a screw (13) with control wheel (13a) and spring (16), acting on the belt. The limit is set by the alignment of the side of the grinding belt to an imaginary line XY. This line passes through the support points of the support bearings (2) on the rail.
