The printing-plate-producing machine has a table (2), on which the blank (3) is accurately positioned, while a frame (6) with transparent plate (7) holds the master copy (5) against the blank. A pressure system (13) in the table thrusts the blank evenly against the master copy supported in the frame in the flat position. There can be a recess in the plate to which a medium is supplied under pressure, and typically covered by a membrane and whose cross-section decreases from the edges to the centre. Alternatively it can contain an enclosed spring-cushion, protruding in the unloaded state.
