Constructional components, partic. for buildings, are produced by forming a recess in the end of a shank. One or more transverse drillings from the outside surface of the shank lead into the recess. Plastic is poured in through them and moulded after it emerges from the recess, a mould being typically fitted onto the shank end. Alternatively, the plastic can be arranged to flow into a second shank, joining the two together. Reinforcing material such as glass-, or carbon-fibre can be mixed in with the plastic, also fibreproofing powder, while the shank can be of wood. ADVANTAGE - Simple to produce and easy joining of components.
