The single wheel suspension is for the driven steerable wheel of a vehicle having an axis of spread (3) defined by an upper linkage point (4) and a lower linkage point (5). The wheel carrier (2) is capable of swivelling about the axis to form a very small or zero roll radius (r3). A reduction gear (15) is provided in the wheel carrier to give a transmission ratio from the shaft (8) to the driven wheel (1) of at least 2:1. ADVANTAGE - Suspension which avoids a backlash effect due to transmission forces on the steering geometry under all suspension conditions.
