Noise insulating and damping panel (1) for use in a vehicle has a closed construction carrier part (4) with a damping panel made up of two overlying perforated plates (2,3) which are spaced from the carrier part and from each other. The perforated plates are held in position by distance pieces (5) and the gap between the plates can be filled with a foam insulating material (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - Noise prevention system of simple construction suitable for the encapsulation of the engine compartment of a diesel engined vehicle.
