<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for selectively synthesizing a fluorine-containing hydrocarbon compound by carrying out stepwise fluorination of an ethane-based fluorine-containing hydrocarbon compound having terminals of methyl or trifluoromethyl groups. CONSTITUTION:Reactional conditions are suitably regulated by utilizing a phenomenon in which the reactivity of cobalt trifluoride (CoF3) that is a fluorinating agent is reduced with increasing number of fluorine atoms in a fluorine- containing hydrocarbon compound which is a raw material. Thereby, mono- and difluorinating reactions are selectively advanced. An ethane-based fluorine- containing hydrocarbon compound is most expected as a candidate for a nonpollution substitute for chlorofluorocarbons (CFC-11, CFC-12, CFC-113, CFC-114 or CFC-115 regulated due to destruction of ozonosphere) extensively used as polymeric foaming agents, refrigerants, detergents and propellants for spray.</p> |
