PURPOSE:To provide a recording material capable of preventing alteration. CONSTITUTION:In a recording material wherein an undercoat layer and a recording layer are successively applied to the single surface of a base material, the recording layer is composed of a thermal recording layer or a pressure- sensitive recording layer and the undercoat layer contains white or light-colored inorg. fluorescent pigment having an emission max. wavelength of 400-700nm. The recording material can not be visually confirmed under usual visible light but can be discriminated at the time of the irradiation with light having a specific exciting wavelength and has alteration preventing effect.
