<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosetting coating composition containing a resin having an epoxy group and hydroxyl group, a resin obtained by subjecting a specific acid anhydride group to ring opening, a hydroxyl group-containing resin and a melamine resin, and having excellent acid resistance and scratch resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective coating composition giving a coating film, excellent in water resistance and weather resistance containing (A) a resin having a hydroxyl group and epoxy group in one molecule, (B) a half-esterified, half- thioesterified and/or a half-amidated resin obtained by subjecting an acid anhydride group of a polymer consisting of a monomer having radical polymerizable unsaturated bond and acid anhydride group to ring opening with a half- esterifying agent such as methanol, (C) a hydroxyl group-containing resin consisting of acrylic resin, fluorine-containing resin and/or polyester based resin, and (D) a melamine resin such as methyletherified melamine.</p> |
