INTER-NETWORK CONNECTOR AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE:To minimize number of times of transmission for a signal for transmission restriction as required by sending a jamming signal to a CSMA/CiD type communication network (Ethernet) only when a packet signal is fed into the Ethernet so as to cause collision in the Ethernet. CONSTITUTION:The transmission of a packet signal from an Ethernet terminal equipment 11 is monitored by using a means 50 detecting congestion in a network connecting to an inter-network connector or in the inter-network connector so as to receive a congestion occurrence notice. The method is provided with a packet transmission restriction means 40 to cause a collision with a packet on the Ethernet 2 when the transmission is detected. Since the inter-network connector 1 connecting to the Ethernet 2 delaying tentatively the transmission of a transmission terminal equipment detecting packet collision detects collision in the connector or a network connecting to the connector 1, traffic flow to a position where congestion takes place is suppressed thereby relaxing the congestion, because of the occurrence of pseudo collision in Ethernet.
