<p>PURPOSE:To attain a resuming function in order to automatically resume the state of a computer system set at a power OFF state when a power supply is turned on. CONSTITUTION:In a power OFF state, the states of a CPU 101, a memory 102, and a controller 103 are saved into a nonvolatile memory 104 by a system state saving processing means 108. In a power ON state, the states of the CPU 101, the memory 102, and the controller 103 set in the power OFF state are read out of the memory 104 and the system state is restored by a system state regeneration processing means 110. Then a redisplay request issuing means 111 issues a window redisplay request to the window system which is working after restoration. Thus it is possible to resume the job carried out in the power OFF state when a power supply is turned on again without setting a low power consumption mode of the CPU 10 nor using any battery. Furthermore the power supply can be infinitely kept in an OFF state.</p> |
