The catalyst for the polymerisation of ethylene is of the formula<IMAGE>It is intended for extracting linear polyethylene in a medium of polar or non-polar solvents at temperatures between -20 and 150 degrees C, and pressures between 1 and 200 atmospheres. By this method, biz-(η-cyclo octadiene-1,5)nickel(0) interacts with 2,2-dimethyl-4-(triphenylphosphoranilyden)-pentanon-3 and triphenylphosphine at temperatures between 0 and 90 degrees C, and at atmospheric pressure. As a reaction medium, benzol, toluol, tetrahydrophurane, dioxan, diethylene ether and acetone may be used. |
