PURPOSE:To dissolve and remove a specific copolyester component by treating conjugate yarn of plural components containing the copolyester with hot water treated with a cation capture agent. CONSTITUTION:An acid component comprising terephthalic acid as a main acid component, 8-16mol% 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalic acid and 5-40mol% isophthalic acid is copolymerized with a polyethylene glycol comprising ethylene glycol as a main diol component and <=10wt.% polyethylene glycol having <=5,000 molecular weight to give a polyester. Conjugate fiber composed of two or more resins comprising the copolyester at least as one component is treated with hot water obtained by treating general industrial water with a cation capture agent such as sodium tripolyphosphate so that the copolyester component is removed to readily form a sheetlike material composed of ultra-fine fiber, specific modified section fiber, etc. |
