PROCESSING RELEASE PAPER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a processing release paper resistant to the lowering of paper strength under high-temperature heating without causing the film-breakage and pinhole formation by forming a multilayer structure having a specific thickness with a methylpentene polymer on one surface of a base paper having specific physical properties. CONSTITUTION:A base paper such as kraft paper or wood-free paper to be used as a processing release paper is controlled to a compactness of 0.65-0.80g/cm<2> and a surface pH of 6-8. The objective processing release paper is produced by coating at least one surface of the base paper with a layer of e.g. a methylpentene polymer (preferably having a melt flow-rate of about 160-200g/10min) and laminating the coated layer with a polymer layer having a melting temperature lower than that of the first polymer layer. The obtained processing release paper has releasing layer having a multilayer structure to prevent the generation of film-breakage and pinhole and is effective for preventing the lowering of paper strength of the base paper after a high- temperature heat-treatment.
