The invention relates to a double wire web forming section in a paper machine, which comprises a load- bearing wire 10 and a covering wire 20, which between them define a double wire forming zone. The forming zone extends from a forming gap G between the said wires 10, 20, to which a pulp suspension jet J is fed from the head box 22. In the double wire zone a support table unit 30, 30A has been arranged, which comprises a strip cover and a strip shoe unit 40; 40A; 40B inside the opposing wire loop which acts against the support table unit. The said strip shoe unit 40; 40A; 40B has been designed as an overpressure box 50. The said overpressure box 50 is connected to a pneumatic source 51, which generates an excess pressure, the said overpressure box 50 also being connected to a drainage connection 40a. The strips 34 of the said support table unit 30, 30A and corresponding strips 42 of the strip shoe of the overpressure box 50 alternate with one another so that the double wire zone runs through the said units 30, 30A, 40, 40A, 40B along an undulating web pressed tight between the wires 10, 20. <IMAGE>
