PURPOSE:To prevent variation in developing characteristic due to variation in spacing between an image bearing body and a developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:Voltage induced by an induced voltage detection electrode 6 is converted to a signal provided with the voltage in proportion to the spacing between a photosensitive drum 1 and a developing sleeve 3 at an S-D distance detection circuit 20. The outputted signal from the S-D distance detection circuit 20 is subjected to processing such as comparison and calculation at CPU25, and the signal showing the result is imparted to a DC voltage control circuit 21. The DC voltage of a DC voltage power source 22 is controlled by a DC voltage control circuit 21. |
