PURPOSE:To provide the information recording medium capable of recording and erasing information at a high speed and has excellent stability of a recording state as well and more particularly the information recording medium capable of overwrite recording and has the excellent characteristic to repeat the overwrite recording. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium is constituted by laminating at least a mixed layer 5 formed by mixing a material 10 consisting of >=3 kinds selected from at least Te, Sb, Ge. In to be changed in optical constant when imparted with thermal energy by a light beam L with a chemically stable dielectric substance 11 and a metallic layer 7. A sufficient optical change is obtd. even as the mixed layer in this way and the material transfer of the recording material is suppressed even if repetitive recording and erasing are executed and, therefore, the repeating characteristic is improved as well. |
