PURPOSE:To prevent a bright spot due to a reflected image of a light source on the surface of a liquid crystal panel from appearing on a screen by forming a reflection preventive layer on the surface of the liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:A reflection preventive layer 26 is formed on the surface of the liquid crystal panel 19. Namely, the liquid crystal panel 19 is provided with a polarizing plate 29 only on the side of a mirror Fresnel lens 12 and a polarizing plate 31 corresponding to it is provided on the side of a projection lens 16 at a distance from the liquid crystal panel 19. The reflection preventive layer 26 is formed on a transparent plastic film, which is stuck on the liquid crystal panel 19 while the optical axis of the transparent film is made parallel to the direction of the transmission axis of the polarizing plate 31 on the side of the projection lens 16. In this case, the reflection preventive film 26 is formed on the surface of the liquid crystal panel 19, so even when the image of the light source 15 is projected on the liquid crystal panel 19, the quantity of light reflected to the projection lens 16 decreases and the spot is prevented from appearing on the screen, so that uniform brightness is obtained. |
