PURPOSE:To obtain the color developing toner large in surface area and high in speed of color developing reaction with a dye precursor and capable of developing sufficient color with a small amount of color developing toner by using the color developing toner having specified large surface area. CONSTITUTION:The color developing toner composition comprises a dye or its precursor contained in microcapsules and a color developer or a dye receptor reacting with the dye or its precursor and developing color and a pressure fixable soft material, such as wax, and the color developing toner usable for the electrostatic transfer process is obtained by heat mixing this composition, at that time adding water to the developer component or the soft material in an amount of 20-50%, cooling the blocks to normal temperature, and pulverizing them. Its specific surface area is enlarged at that time to >=0.8m<2>/g, thus permitting the dye or its precursor to easily permeate the color developer. |
