PURPOSE:To provide the treatment process in which hydrocarbon of small number of carbon such as methane can be used as reducing gas by using a perovskite compound composed mainly of zirconate as a catalyst and hydrocarbon as reducing gas, retaining a reaction section higher than the normal temperature and treating nitrogen oxide. CONSTITUTION:Nitrogen oxide is treated by using a perovskite compound composed mainly of zirconate (XZrO3) as a catalyst and hydrocarbon as reducing gas respectively and retaining a reaction section higher than the normal temperature. Further, as the constitution of a device, a catalyst reaction section 6 in which the catalyst is disposed, a feeding means 5 for feeding nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbon to said catalyst reaction section 6 and a heat insulation means 8 are provided. The treatment in which hydrocarbon having small number of carbon such as methane or the like as reducing gas can be provided in said selective reduction process. |
