PURPOSE: To provide a method for realizing 1:1 redundancy for facilitating a counter measure regardless of the number or combination of slave processors. CONSTITUTION: A process control system includes a plant control network. The network is connected from an universal control network(UCN) 14A through an interface with a process controller 20. The plant control network 11 operates the synthetic supervision of a process to be controlled with the operation of a plant operator, and obtains all necessary information. A controller 30 is operated as a master processor, I/O modules 21-A is operated as a primary slave processor, and module 21-B is operated as a (redundant) slave processor. Assuming that the module 21-B is not constituted, a non-redundant system is obtained as shown by a broken line. In the case of a redundant system, the I/O module 21-B is synchronously operated, and executed under the instruction of the controller 30. |
