<p>PURPOSE:To improve the printing quality of an object to be printed and reliability by maintaining its printing continuity by a method wherein a printing cycle of a thermal printer and its electrification off time are automatically controlled based on variation in temperature of a head without controlling the head regardless of the printing cycle of the object to be printed for the thermal printer. CONSTITUTION:The present printer has a thermal head 11 which thermally prints characters on thermographic paper 16, a temperature detecting means 12 which outputs a temperature detection data D1 by detecting temperature of the thermal head 11, a memory means 13 which stores a printing speed data D2 of the thermal head 11, a control means 14 which outputs a head electrification control data D3 and a transfer control data D4 based on the temperature detection data D1 and the printing speed data D2, and a transfer means 15 which moves and feeds the thermographic paper 16 based on the transfer control data D4. The control means 14 outputs the transfer control data 14 corrected based on the temperature detection data D1, the printing speed data D2, and an exterior control signal SIN to the transfer means 15.</p> |
