PURPOSE:To eliminate any spring action in a gas chamber at time of shoal sailing and so on and make an outboard motor maintainable at a constant tilt angle by connecting a sub-tank with the gas chamber to the side of a second chamber in a cylinder being compressed at a time when a cylinder unit is expanded longer via an orifice. CONSTITUTION:At the time of forward sailing in a state of having an on-off valve 20 opened, if driftwood or the like collides with an outboard motor, extending directional force acts on a rod 12 and thereby pressure in a first chamber S1 goes down, thus a pilot check valve 29 is closed. When a difference between both first and second chambers S1 and S2 goes beyond the specified value and a check valve 14 is opened, oil flows to the first chamber S1 from the second chamber S2 immediately after that, so impact energy is absorbed. In addition, in the case where shoal sailing takes place in a state that the on-off valve 20 is closed, the outboard motor 4 is made to keep its tilt angle intact, and when getting away from the shoal and a thrust of the outboard motor is made larger, this check valve 22 is opened, thus a part of oil in the first chamber 1 is taken into a sub-tank 23, and rotation of the outboard motor is downed. |
