PURPOSE:To set the optimum route with a small quantity if cross-point information by selecting the proposed cross-points from the memorized cross-point information and setting a starting cross-point and a final cross-point on the basis of the prescribed parameters from the selected proposed cross-points. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 executes a system program memorized in an ROM 8. A key 16 is operated to input a starting point and a destination point. Route and cross-point setting processing is carried out for the starting point and destination point. Accordingly, the cross-points within a prescribed distance range from the starting and destination points among the cross-points which are previously memorized in a CD-ROM 19 are selected as the starting and final proposed cross-points, and these points are weighted by at least one parameter, and each of the optimum starting cross-point and the final cross-point is selected. Then, the optimum inducing route between the starting-point and final cross- point is selected by using the route searching technique. This inducing route is displayed on a CRT display 20 in the output form suitable for the driver's request. |
