PURPOSE:To improve the checking performance for a rear seat rider by preventing what is called a submarine phenomenon at a collision. CONSTITUTION:An air bag unit 4, restraining any movement of a knee part P1 of a rear seat rider P upward at a collision, is installed in response to a knee position of the rear-seat rider. The inflation of an intermediate part of an air bag 4b is checked by a cord 31. At the collision, a lower part 4d of the air bag 4b is inflated and unfolded downward almost simultaneously with an upper part 4c. any upward movement of the knee part P1 of the rider P is checked by the lower part 4d. Along with this, a chest part P2 of the rider P is checked by the upper part 4c of the air bad 4b. |
